Silversea Cruises’ First Nova-Class Ship Brims With Deluxe Amenities And A Host Of Tempting Restaurants. The All-Suite Vessel Accommodates 728 Guests.

Silversea Cruises’ first Nova-class ship, the Silver Nova, embarked on her maiden voyage August 14, departing from Venice, Italy, on a seven-day roundtrip voyage through the Adriatic.
One of the most environmentally conscious luxury cruise ships built, the Silver Nova is the 12th ship in Silversea Cruises’ fleet. She recently finished her Mediterranean season and is now doing a transatlantic cruise to New York. From there she will be offering itineraries to the Caribbean and South America.

More About This New Cruise Ship

Accommodating up to 728 guests with a crew of 544, the Silver Nova boasts a crew-to-guest ratio of 1- to-1.3. The ship has a reimagined pool deck that overlooks the waters on her starboard side. She also has new outdoor venues, the Dusk Bar and The Marquee.

Dusk Bar

The Silver Nova has 13 suite categories, and every suite offers a private veranda. Her unique design lets guests focus on the sea. One way this has been achieved is through the extensive use of glass. The Venetian Lounge is more than two decks tall with windows on one side. Also, the ship’s funnel is not positioned at the centerline of the ship.

The Silver Nova features the line’s largest art collection.

Diverse Culinary Offerings

The Silver Nova offers nine dining venues onboard—six complimentary restaurants and three specialty ones.
New on the Silver Nova is S.A.L.T. Chef’s Table, along with enhanced dining experiences in La Dame and Kaiseki. S.A.L.T. Kitchen is the first large-scale regional restaurant at sea. The Aris Cafe coffee shop offers a wide choice of gourmet snacks and nibbles throughout the day. Guests can also enjoy 24-hour in-suite dining.

Food and Beverage Options on the Silver Nova

Guests can dine at these six complimentary restaurants:

  • Atlantide, the ship’s main dining room, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and accommodates 270 guests.
  • Silver Note, a supper club, has live music nightly and tapas-style dishes.
  • La Terrazza, located on the aft section of Deck 4, is the Silver Nova’s largest restaurant and has seating for 340 guests. There are buffet stations for breakfast and lunch. For dinner, an Italian menu is offered.
  • The Marquee, located on Deck 10, includes The Grill, which offers Silversea Cruises’ trademark “hot rocks” barbecue concept and Spaccanapoli pizza kitchen. This alfresco dining venue accommodates 220 guests. With The Marquee’s close proximity to the swimming pool, guests can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere during the day and then dinner under the stars.
  • Aris Cafe is located in the center of the ship, in close proximity to reception on Deck 4. Seating up to 70 guests, it serves small bites and refreshments, and is open from early morning to late afternoon. Guests can enjoy pastries in the morning, premium coffees, teas and gourmet snacks, with juices and smoothies available for lunch and during the afternoon.
  • S.A.L.T. Kitchen on Deck 3 can accommodate larger groups, providing a more social experience. The area has high ceilings, vast windows and artworks that reflect the world’s richest culinary traditions. S.A.L.T. Kitchen offers a menu inspired by each destination, from the Terrain menu, which adapts according to each port of call, to the Voyage menu, which includes the best recipes of each voyage.

Three Cruise Dinner Options at an Additional Cost

  • Prepared in front of guests, S.A.L.T. Chef’s Table includes anecdotes about the history of each dish and its ingredients. The three-hour dining experience is $180 per guest.
  • La Dame, located on Deck 4, is Silversea Cruises’ signature French restaurant. Accommodating 68 guests, La Dame includes wine pairings for each course, and the surcharge is $160 per guest. Those opting for the “connoisseur” wine pairing pay an additional $90.
  • Kaiseki provides the finest Asian cuisine in a Japanese-inspired setting. Located on Deck 4, it accommodates 40 guests. The surcharge is $80 per guest for dinner. A sushi menu with no add- on fees is offered at lunch.
Atrium

New Otium Suites

The Silver Nova has two Otium Suites, a new suite category for Silversea. Now guests have a choice of 13 different categories.
The Otium Suites, at 1,324 square feet, provide the ship’s most spacious accommodations. Each features floor-to-ceiling windows in the living areas. The 431-foot balconies have a private whirlpool. Guests staying in the Otium Suites can enjoy a complimentary treatment in the spa, up to a value of $399 per person.

The New Cruise Ship’s Otium Spa

The Silver Nova’s Otium Spa, located towards the bow of the ship, includes an indoor relaxation pool and eight treatment rooms, two of which have state-of-the- art treatment beds, experiential showers and a tranquil relaxation area. The spa also has a fitness center and beauty salon.

Where’s This Cruise Ship Sailing?

The Silver Nova just finished her European sailings. Currently, she is on a transatlantic repositioning cruise from Lisbon to New York. From there the ship will be offering diverse sailings from New York to Bridgetown, Barbados, and New York to Lima. Later in December, she will do a 16-day cruise from Lima to Fort Lauderdale. On January 4, 2024, the Silver Nova embarks on the 71-day Grand Voyage South America, visiting 38 ports in 18 countries.
