The Luxury Scenic Eclipse II Cruise Ship Will Join Her Sister Ship In Pampering Guests On Adventures To All Corners Of The Globe, Including Australia And The Polar Regions

Scenic Group’s new ultra-luxury yacht, the Scenic Eclipse II, is scheduled to debut this April. Her inaugural voyage, “Incredible Iberian Discovery,” will be an 11-day sailing from Lisbon to Barcelona. The christening ceremony will take place a month later—June 3 in Malaga, Spain. The Scenic Eclipse II follows the Scenic Eclipse, which debuted in 2019, and has numerous enhancements.

This New Scenic Luxury Cruise Ship Offers All-Inclusive Journeys

The Scenic Eclipse II will accommodate 226 guests but takes only 200 when sailing in polar waters. Guests enjoy unrivaled exploration and unparalleled access to some of the world’s most spectacular regions.

The new cruise ship has a 1:1 staff-to-guest ratio, private butler service and 10 dining options. All voyages are truly all-inclusive, as fine dining, premium-branded beverages, gratuities, transfers, and once-in-a-lifetime immersive experiences are all included in the fare.

What’s New For The Scenic Eclipse II Cruise Ship?

The Scenic Eclipse II has a new bar area on Deck 10 with both indoor and outdoor seating. Guests can enjoy the stunning views as they cruise through the Mediterranean, Arctic, or Antarctica. The perfect venue for sail-away deck parties, the venue has a large oval-shaped pool with a comfortable relaxation space.

Chef’s Garden @ Epicure

Also new is the Chef’s Garden @ Epicure. This immersive dining experience and presentation area accommodate up to seven seated guests or 14 standing. They can enjoy immersive culinary classes, learn how to make chocolate, and sample a “dram” or two in whisky-tasting sessions.

The Scenic Eclipse II Ship Sets The Benchmark For Luxury Cruises

The Scenic Eclipse II carries on with what her sister ship, the Scenic Eclipse, created by setting the benchmark for wellness experiences. Her expansive 5,920-square-foot Senses Spa has dedicated male and female wellness areas with saunas, color and cold therapies, a steam room with relaxation lounges, and a manicure/pedicure studio. The outdoor terrace includes relaxation lounges, a vitality spa, and a dedicated Pilates and yoga studio.

The wellness area also features state-of-the-art KLAFS Infrared chairs, which are designed to relieve back pain and encourage muscle relaxation.

Dr. Kathryn Sullivan, a pioneer in space exploration, is the godmother of the Scenic Eclipse II.

The New Scenic Cruise Ship’s Godmother

The godmother of the Scenic Eclipse II is Dr. Kathryn Sullivan, a distinguished scientist, astronaut and executive. She was one of the first six women to join the NASA astronaut corps in 1978 and holds the distinction of being the first American woman to walk in space. Also, her submersible dive to the Challenger Deep in June of 2020 made her a triple Guinness World Record holder as the most vertical person in the world. She was the first person to both orbit the planet and reach its deepest point, and the first woman to dive to full ocean depth. She is recognized as a pioneer in her field, and her selection as godmother personifies the Scenic Eclipse II’s adventurous spirit exploring the world’s wonders.

The Scenic Eclipse II Luxury Cruise Ship And Her Destinations

As mentioned, the maiden voyage will be the 11-day “Incredible Iberian Discovery.” From Lisbon on April 23, the Scenic Eclipse II will travel along the Atlantic Coast, pass through the straits of Gibraltar, and sail into the Mediterranean to Barcelona, Spain.

The new ship will offer the opportunity to explore the world’s most unique continent, the icy realm of Antarctica, on the 15-day “Beyond the Antarctic Circle,” a roundtrip itinerary from Ushuaia, Argentina. The Scenic Eclipse II, purpose-built for the region, has a Polar Class 6 rating and oversized zero-speed stabilizers that ensure a comfortable and safe expedition into polar waters. Scenic’s expert Discovery team provides guests with fascinating insights as well as once-in-a-lifetime excursions for viewing penguins and other wildlife.

Many itineraries will feature underwater adventures.

The Scenic Eclipse II will make other new pathways around the world. She will go to Australia, French Polynesia and above the Arctic Circle on the 12-day “Exploring the High Arctic Voyage” from Reykjavik to Copenhagen. The new ship’s nine-day “Caribbean Sunsets: Turks & Caicos Islands and Jamaica” departs Nassau on October 23, 2023. And there are other itineraries.

Scenic Cruise Line’s Commitment To A Sustainable Future

Scenic Group continues with its commitment to sustainability and over the past few years has made significant changes to reduce its environmental impact. This included eliminating the use of single-use plastics and introduction of reusable water bottles onboard its ships.

The company recently announced changes to 2023 travel documentation and guest backpack inclusions. It is shifting away from mailing out travel packs with merchandise, like wallets and backpacks for river and ocean cruise bookings. And the distribution of travel documentation will now be via email only. Using email enables the swifter distribution of documentation and the ability to re-send documentation
in a timely manner in the event that amendments/changes are needed. It also reduces the
environmental impact of printing, producing, and transporting documents and merchandise.

Scenic Group is offering a new benefit for 2023 bookings. A $50 per person onboard credit will be added to each booking. It can be used for a spa or wellness treatment, fine and vintage Champagne, wine or spirits, or additional laundry services. The onboard credit is in addition to existing loyalty tier member benefits.

The Scenic Eclipse II’s bar area on Deck 10 will offer a relaxing place to view the scenery.
